Ben was introduced to lawn bowling by Harry Hickaway, the then President of St. John's Lawn Bowling Club in 1995. A year later, Ben served as Vice President. Ben is a qualified umpire and a Level 1 certified coach; and he has carried out the duties of coaching co-ordinator for 4 years. Ben was awarded Life Membership at St John's Lawn Bowling Club on May 22nd, 2010 in recognition of his great service to the Club.
