Inter-Club - What is it?

Although it is open to all member clubs, participation is not obligatory. Low membership numbers or distance from Winnipeg may make it difficult for a club to participate. Those clubs that do may enter more than one team but will lose points if both teams are not maintained for each scheduled match. Since the matches are on a round-robin basis, points are awarded to the team whose opponent failed to turn up with a team...although a substitute may be obtained if one is available.

There is no participation fee, Recreational level players are encouraged to sign up to play, and there are no fixed teams--each player being free to pick when and if he/she wishes to be part of a team. In fact, the more club members who become involved the more who benefit from the experience. While it is not a tournament and no prizes are given, the opportunity to play at other club greens and against other unfamiliar opponents may increase your skill level.

Refreshments are usually minimal, although some clubs are very hospitable and provide sandwiches, desserts, cold and hot beverages, and some even veggies and dip, it is not for the meal that we go. A token of your appreciation may be left at the table to encourage the social aspect of this almost weekly (Wednesdays) event.
