This annual event, which celebrates the members who have just begun their lawn bowling interest, was particularly successful this year due to the larger number of entries. Eleven bowlers from Norwood, including five who were under 18 and in their first year; five bowlers from St. John’s, and two each from Tuxedo and St. James Clubs – competed over the three days.

The temperatures soared above 30°C and a lot of liquids were consumed but the warriors remained in good spirits. Out of respect for the tender age of some of the participants, none of their pictures are being displayed. The first four matches were a random Round Robin format; the fifth match pitted the first against the fourth and the second against the third; and the final, between Dennis Ducharme & Derek Venderbos and Donna Gabbs & Gerry Bilodeau, was played at 7 pm Sunday evening.
